My name is Al Huizenga.
I'm a product manager who works in Toronto (I live in Hamilton, around the tip of lake Ontario).
I work at Vizible Corporation.
This year, we built a 3D web browser for AT&T. They called it Pogo. There may even be a next version (stranger things have happened).
A couple of years ago, we built a site where 3D designers can create and share interactive worlds of online media. We called it Project RedTail (here's a blog post explaining the name).
Some friends and I are building a little mobile service called Lifemarks. It lets you use QR codes to connect with people.
I play with a band called The Flints. I write a lot of the songs and play keyboards. Our most recent album is called Shutting Down Airports.
I'm married to Leanne Huizenga. We have two kids, Emily and Jack. We have a morky named Nanoo.
I have a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Carleton University.
I am a citizen of both Canada and the United States.
I am on Facebook and LinkedIn.

======================================
I used to work for a very swinging little business intelligence company called Panorama Software, owned by Rony Ross. They were primarily an OLAP company, but they were busy building out a full suite. I was in charge of reporting. I came up with an idea that we called smart reporting, and worked with some really great developers in Tel Aviv to build the first version. Those were good times.
Before that, I worked for Platform Computing in Markham Ontario, owned by Dr. Songnian Zhou. I inherited a high performance management product called SiteAssure and helped wrestle it back into the main product bundle. For a while, I was in charge of their Analytics line. And for about eight months, I worked for Platform's 'inside sales' team, creating demos and pitching over the phone. My short trip through the dark side, as it were.
And way, way back, I was a technical writer and general rabble rouser at Cognos in Ottawa. I worked on various desktop, server, and web products in the PowerPlay and Impromptu lines.
That is all.
